African American singer, songwriter, rapper, actress, and producer Janelle Mon\u00e1e has artistry work for years- both as an R&B artist and an actress. Her cinematic artistry has seen her star in hit movies such as \u201cMoonlight,\u201d \u201cHidden Figures,\u201d \u201cWelcome to Marwen,\u201d and \u201cHarriet.\u201d As if that weren’t enough, the lady can now add horror film producer to her list of accomplishments with the upcoming release of “Antebellum.” Staring Eric Lange, Jena Malone, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, and Gabourey Sidibe. Mon\u00e1e stars as one of six lead characters that make up this chilling new movie; and let’s face it, if anyone can bring a mix of trap, EDM, and hip-hop together onscreen — it’s got to be Janelle Mon\u00e1e!<\/p>\n

Janelle Mon\u00e1e has a signature style that is certainly hard to miss. Her signature tuxedo wardrobe puts her in the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the most fashionable women on the music scene. She has been signed on Atlantic Records, alongside having her own imprint, Wondaland Arts Society, for further creative venturing. Her look harkens back to her first job as a maid, which she revealed in her 2012 Black Girls Rock!Young, Gifted and Black award acceptance speech. However, now she is known for her classic white and black tuxedo pattern making practically every event she attends a more stylish affair. This strong-willed female powerhouse is truly an inspiration to look out for!<\/p>\n

The talented actress is aiming high, with the goal of getting into the Guinness Book of World Records! She’s done a pretty remarkable job at creating a signature style, evident in her signature tuxedos as a uniform for her career. There is no question that she has been making serious waves, evidenced by her eight Grammy Award nominations and wins like the MTV Video Music Award and ASCAP Vanguard Award in 2010. In addition to her Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award in 2015 to Mon\u00e1e’s list of accolades! Her hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed either – Boston City Council even declared October 16, 2013 \u201cJanelle Mon\u00e1e Day\u201d, honoring her artistry and impressive social leadership.
