An African Giant<\/a> diaspora Alicia Keys, 29 times Grammy nominee, has won a staggering 15 Grammy awards, has been nominated over 200 times for an award, and earned 152 awards so far. Billboard magazine ranked her as the top R&B recording artist from 2000\u2013to 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multi-time Grammy winner’s early life was not all green and rosy. She was raised by only her mum since her dad left when she was only two. But due to her love and talent for music, she was able to achieve great heights. The African Giant Alicia Keys wrote her first song in honor of her late grandfather at only 12 yrs old. After she released \u201cFallin\u201d in April 2001, it climbed to the number one spot on Billboard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 15 times Grammy<\/a> awards winner would then go on to be a record-breaker after releasing her debut studio album \u201cSong in A Minor\u201d which was no 1 on Billboard 200 and certified six times Platinum, earned five Grammy Awards out of 6 nominations, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA Woman\u2019s Worth\u201d no 3 on Billboard\u2019s Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs, \u201cThe Diary of Alicia Keys\u201d no 1 on Billboard 200, certified four-times Platinum by the RIAA, \u2018Unplugged\u2019 no 1 on Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum by the RIAA, track \u201cUnbreakable\u201d peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Adult R&B, \u201cUn-Thinkable (I\u2019m Ready)\u201d no 1 on the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs, \u201cAs I Am\u201d peaked at number one on the Billboard 200, certified three times Platinum by the RIAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her 2003 album \u201cThe Diary of Alicia Keys\u201d did not simply peak at number 1 on the Billboard 200 but became the sixth-biggest-selling album by a female artist and the second-biggest-selling album by a female R&B artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alicia Keys 2004 \u201cIf I Ain\u2019t Got You\u201d track did not simply sit as number one on the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs, it remained on the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs chat for over a year, making it the first single by a female artist to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnbreakable\u201d and \u201cNo One\u201d was also hit songs that also sat at number one on Billboard. Her 2014 \u2018Tears for Water\u2019 made her a New York Times bestseller in 2005. Her 2016 track \u201cIn Common\u201d made no 1 on Billboard\u2019s Dance Club Songs chart<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She sang alongside Spanish recording artist Alejandro Sanz, in \u201cLooking for Paradise\u201d. The song topped the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, making her the first African-American of non-Hispanic origin to reach no 1 on the Hot Latin Tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alicia Keys 2019 single \u201cShow Me Love\u201d featured Miguel in the track. The song peaked at number 1 on the Adult R&B Songs chart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
